Kent Teague

Kent Teague is the Managing Partner of Gold Creek Capital. Mr. Teague has extensive business and technical experience. From 2007 to 2015, Kent was the sole owner of Iris Data Services, an electronic discovery litigation support company. Iris was an innovator in the eDiscovery managed services business, providing litigation support departments in corporations and law firms the security they need, the processes and workflows required, along with absolute cost predictability. In April 2015, Iris was sold to Epiq Systems, Inc. Iris was Kent's 3rd Inc 500 company.
 
From 1992 to 1999, Kent worked for Microsoft. While there he held a number of different leadership positions including responsibility for all Microsoft consultants devoted to retail clients in North America. In addition to profit and loss accountability, he also had worldwide strategy responsibility for the implementation of Microsoft products from the time a product left the distribution warehouse until a consumer bought it. Not only involved with traditional brick and mortar retail, he was also responsible for all retail type electronic commerce companies. He was recognized as a Microsoft “Manager of the Year” in 1998 and also received numerous other awards while at Microsoft. Because of the tremendous growth rate in Kent's group and the huge market share gains, Kent will often claim he has 4 Inc 500 companies to his credit.
 
Kent also has extensive experience in technology companies. From 1990 to 1992, Kent was the Director of Development at Saber Software. He began there as a software developer, writing about half of the product that eventually took Saber public. He built the development team from 3 to 30 people including software developers, testers, and documentation specialists. Saber Software went public in April 1994 at a capitalization of $40M. Saber was bought in 1995 by McAfee and Associates, now a part of Network Associates.
 
Kent is a graduate of Trinity University with a BA in Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science.
 
Because of his various leadership roles in different industries, Kent can draw upon a unique blend of talents and skills. His leadership and overall business experience aids him in coaching a CEO on the important aspects of growing a company. Because of his technical background, he has the ability to understand the probability of a product being developed on time and on budget. His sales and marketing background gives him the ability to gauge the probability of a product being accepted and purchased by potential customers and distributed by potential partners.
