Accelerating the process by knowing the next step... |
Taking a step by step approach to the investment process helps us keep moving toward the objectives before us. |
Screening |
We review hundreds of business plans every year. Most of them are good, but we only invest when we believe we can contribute long term value. |
Due Diligence |
After reviewing your Business Plan, the next step is face-to-face discussions about investing in your venture. While we are deciding to invest we also conduct a rigorous due diligence process. Due diligence involves analyzing your product and market opportunity, conducting industry research including customers and competition, validating assumptions made in your Business Plan, and discussing syndication with our co-investment partners. This process typically lasts 2 to 6 weeks. |
Investing |
The first step of investing is offering your company a letter of intent - a proposal to invest a specified amount of capital in exchange for a specified amount of equity. Final closing normally occurs in 4 to 8 weeks following mutual acceptance of the letter. |
Growing |
Investing is not the most important step, it's growing the company. Expect us to devote considerable time and resources to the growth of your company. Normally, we actively participate on your Board of Directors, helping you reach your goals and resolve strategic challenges. This step of the process averages 5 years. |
Divesting |
Our
ultimate goal is creating a liquidity event for the founders, management,
employees, and investors in your company. Hopefully this liquidity
event will be an IPO. The majority of the time, the outcome will be
a merger with another company. The greatest benefit of divesting is
we have the opportunity to repeat the process again, turning another
company into an industry leader. |
Business Plan Summary Submission |
We
are continually looking for new companies. If your business
meets our criteria, we look forward to hearing
from you. Please do not include any confidential information in your
submission. An executive summary is sufficient for initial contact.
We request your Business Plan Summary be in Word or PDF format. Submit
to summaries*AT*GoldCreekCapital.com. |
